We have friendly mixologists on hand who can rustle you up anything from an Espresso Martini to a mean Negroni. If our Long Island Ice Teas are wrong you won’t want to be right, that’s why they’re infamously known as the ‘Wrong Island Iced Tea’.
We’re super proud to have served as a local hotspot in Balaclava for over a decade now, come down and check out what all the fuss is about. We’re based right in the heart of Carlisle St; the perfect venue for live music, functions and events.
If you’re feeling ravenous, we have a selection of house made bar-snacks including platters, calamari and fries with gluten free and vegan options available. Don’t forget to also check out our extensive range of tap beers and specialty wines.

Since 2001, Pause Bar has built a reputation for a great event, big and small – for cocktail parties, major milestone events including engagement parties, 21st, 40th, 50th and Christmas functions. There is something about the space that really works; there’s a cocktail bar, plenty of seating, room for dancing, great acoustics, and a generous outdoor area.
A pause can comfortably accommodate groups of 20 -100 people. Best of all, there’s no booking fee however we recommend that you book early for key weekend dates and public holidays. When you make a booking for 20 people or more, we will throw in a bottle of Octopus Prosecco to help get the party started.
Pause Bar is a perfect spot for a first date as well as celebrating meaningful couple times.
